My theory

I’m just going to jump right into it. I think Lous is in a mental institution and this is all her imagination.

In ep 1 she says something about the crimes feeling familiar but she can’t figure out why. I think they’re either from her past as a detective or crimes she committed herself. But either way, I think she’s in a mental institution and everyone else are patients in there with her and she’s imagining it all. She is reliving it. This would explain the odd inbetween time period and why we can’t pinpoint exactly what year this takes place.

It also would explain the different characters. The nun, her daughter, the priest, the nurse… I don’t know. They all seem like they could possibly patients or staff.

I lowkey hope I am wrong because I think it’d be a little lame but who knows. There is definitely things I’m forgetting to mention but putting my thought be to words isn’t my strong suit so let me know what you think
