Why dating apps suck and always will suck

Dating apps suck they are full of toxic people and will always be like this. One reason is (among many) is the type of community dating apps are.

Dating apps are a revolving door community. What this means is that anyone who enters the community is looking for something and then once obtaining it will leave. These communities become toxic overtime as positive actors leave and all that remains are toxic actors who are unable to obtain what they came for.

This isn't exclusive to dating apps but is relatively common in dating adjacent communities. For example the early incel communities were largely formed on male dating advice communities. Now dating apps don't have half the social features that allowed these incel communities to become so radical but they do still suffer from the same process of toxification.

So before complaining about the other gender based on your dating app experience, remember you are likely just experiencing the toxicity of dating apps.
