Lingering at a Restaurant After You Finish Your Meal
I was at Edith's Sandwich Counter in the West Village this past weekend (pretty good, although they were out of totkes), and it was extremely crowded inside. It is a small space with room for about 8-10 people to sit down. From waiting to order to finishing my meal, my experience was about an hour and a half. There was a party of 2 that had 2 of the coveted bar seats. They were done eating by the time I got there and when I had finished, they were still sitting and talking at the counter. I felt like this was pretty inconsiderate considering the size of the restaurant and the crowd of people also trying to eat inside. However, I also understand that as a paying customer you have a right to be there.
Generally, what are your guys' thoughts on lingering around after you're done eating, especially in NYC as a lot of eateries are small with limited seating?
