Do any of you feel shameful about your preferences?

So I have autism and adhd and the only types of scents that don't overwhelm me are vanilla gourmands, think Bianco Latte. This sort of sucks because I'm absolutely in love with so many different scent profiles but most of them are headache inducing when I'm overstimulated/overwhelmed. My neurodivergence basically wants me to smell comforting and edible haha. But because I've been in so many frag spaces I think I've become sort of ashamed that this is what works for me? Gourmands get a lot of hate in frag communities so I think I've subconsciously internalized it? Like "oh how can you like fragrances if you only wear simple gourmands you POSER!" I know it's silly and it's not like I won't wear whatever I want and accommodate my disability but it was just something I thought about just now. Like why are gourmands seen as less sophisticated, less valid, less attractive? Is it because it's a relatively new scent family (it's only been around for like 30 years) or is it because it's associated with women, especially younger women? A combo of both? Is it because gourmands are much easier to find at lower price points thereby making them "for the peasants"?
