Wheel of time VS Malazan
A little awhile ago I finished stormlight archive, my first ever fantasy series. I loved it, and has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of media ever. A week later I started wheel of time, and about 500 pages into the first book, I DNF'D it.
I found the story to be predictable, the characters dense, and the worldbuilding fine at best. I tried picking it back up multipe times but just can't get myself to enjoy Jordan's style of writing. Lost without a new fantasy series, I found Malazan.
I'm currently mid way through deadhouse gates (book 2) of Malazan book of the fallen and love it. I feel like Erikson's writing is way better, the characters feel more natural, the worldbuildng is far better.
I wanted to know from others who have read both series; which one do you prefer and why? And once I finish Malazan, should I pick back up wheel of time? If so, what are some things I can expect when picking the series up again in the future?
Thanks for reading and have a good day.
