Did Ontarians living in Québec already drive like shit before they came to the province, or did they assimilate to the local culture?

Been seeing more people with Ontario plates, and I've noticed they drive just as shit as any Québécois would. Considering the stereotypes that Québécois drive badly, notably in relation to other provinces, is it that Ontarians that drive like shit come to Québec by self-selection, or do they gradually assimilate to the local shitty driving culture?
