Headlines like “NORMAL GUY” or “AVERAGE AMERICAN” with a post featuring an EDC GUN are inaccurate — average people don’t EDC a gun.
I’m not complaining about gun pics. I like seeing all the different EDC options. And obviously a large percentage of people in this sub are people who appreciate firearms.
I’m a gun owner myself. I own multiple firearms.
But I feel like this sub is fetishizing guns to a dishonest degree… focusing on guns as part of a typical EDC, when the actual statistics don’t reflect that.
Approximately 32% of Americans are firearm owners, and roughly 18% of those gun owners state they carry a gun every day.
So headlines like “NORMAL GUY” or “AVERAGE AMERICAN” with a post featuring an EDC gun are inaccurate — bordering on dishonest. It’s not even close to being true.
Normal people don’t EDC a gun. The Average American doesn’t EDC a gun. In fact, the VAST MAJORITY of people in the world don’t EDC a gun.
Why is this obvious bullshit being normalized in this sub?
If you EDC a gun you are (statistically) ABNORMAL, and DO NOT meet the definition of AVERAGE American — when measured by that standard.
Are people being sarcastic?
Or do the people posting these headlines actually believe that the average American carries a gun with them every day??
Because the average American DOES NOT carry a gun.
