Your Daily Bread 01/29/25: Justin Fields
This one will be controversial. There are plenty of Justin Fields takes on either end of the spectrum. Fields has an opportunity to be a starter in 2025 after showing the ability to win with Pittsburgh in the NFL world while producing at a high level in the fantasy world.
Age: 25
Height: 6’ 3”
Weight: 227
Justin Fields has been offered no favors in development until this year during his NFL tenure. Fields has expressed interest for staying in Pittsburgh not wanting to learn a new offense. A potential Russell Wilson Pete Carol reunion in Las Vegas could set the stage for Fields to take control in Pittsburgh.
I don’t think Justin will go to a spot that is bad for Justin. He has total control of where he goes next year if Pittsburgh does resign Russ and let Justin become a starter elsewhere. If Steelers retain Russell the Las Vegas Raiders could be a perfect landing spot for Justin with Carol who was responsible for molding Russell Wilson.
As of right now Justin Fields is valued around a late second on Keep Trade Cut. This is supreme value for me to go and buy Justin. In the games he did start last year Fields finished at an average QB13 going 4-2. While QB13 might not excite a lot of people these were his first 6 games in a brand new scheme after a disastrous start to his career in Chicago.
A 2025 late second will be looking at quarterbacks like Dillion Gabriel or Jalen Milroe. While I’ve got a lot of Milroe love I’d take the shot at the automatic starter over two ultra projects.
