Lucanis major bug. Heavy late game spoiler

Ok so this is a quick rant. It’s about the only bug I’ve seen, at least I think it’s a bug., mostly because it wouldn’t make sense for this to be a feature.

I choose to save Minrathous, in turn Lucanis was hardened, but I played his quest through and did the steps to get to his Hero of the Veilguard quest. After beating his main antagonist, we went back to the light house and boom the quest ends. Now I was kinda confused because his hero pop up never happened. So I waited because I figured he might be like Bellara, where he needed to have a dialogue trigger for the pop up.

So did some more side quests with him, pushed to the point of no return, bought him his gift, had a few more dialogue options. And still nothing happened. At this point I’m about four hours past my save for his companion quest, but I still had the auto save before it. So I dropped the difficulty and ran through a few quests thinking maybe it was just a trigger bug. I’ve reloaded the save twice and It still doesn’t trigger his veilguard perk. I know it’s not because of my choice to save Minrathous. Because there’s a guide which pretty much says the only thing that particular choice effects are his ability stats, and then locking you out of choosing the fate of Lucanis’ antagonist. So now I’m left wondering if I may have missed something which seems super unlikely. Or more likely my game experienced a massive bug and I have zero way of getting this play through to 100% completion. Either way I’m super torn. The save I have is far enough that it should fix any trigger problems. I just don’t know what to do, I don’t want to dive through this same play through again because I still play on doing two more for each class. But I just feel empty, I’m usually a completionist when it comes to my story games unless I’m specifically trying for a bad ending, but now I don’t even know how this will affect my ending and I’m literally there minus his hero status. 😓
