Can you recover broken armor?

Im on my first playthrough of diablo 1 and i just got the arkane armor and its kinda carrying me. i just got in a really big fight, killed all of the demons and them went back up to town for repairs when i realized i didnt have my armor or helmet equipped. I went back to where i was fighting and couldnt find anything, so i just came to the conclusion that it broke. That armor was really good and looked awesome, is there any way to get it back?
