Does anyone else prefer the old Detective Conan art style and animation? Personally, I feel the darker, grittier tone of the earlier episodes suited the show much better. That shadowy and almost "greasy" aesthetic added a sense of realism and tension that felt perfect for a series centered around murders.

Now, with the more polished and glossy look, it feels less impactful. I’ve always disliked that overly shiny, clean aesthetic—it takes away from the atmosphere.

The show itself also seems to have shifted. Around episode 700 or so (if I remember correctly, if not earlier EPs), the tone became much lighter. Yes, people still get killed, but the way it’s presented feels less brutal and less intense. It’s almost like they’ve aimed for a more kid-friendly vibe, which just doesn’t fit as well.

When I watched the older episodes as a kid, I loved how dark and creepy they felt in the best way possible. That atmosphere was part of what made me fall in love with the series.

Maybe it’s just me, but what are your thoughts? Do you feel the same way?
