I’m an Everyday Millionaire
I just realized that my husband and I have a net worth a smidge over $1 million. I want to shout it from the rooftops but also keep it secret haha. What would you do with this knowledge?
I'm not sure what the point of this post is, but I always enjoy hearing/reading people's stories who have been successful so maybe this will be motivating to someone. And this is me shouting it from the rooftops without doing it on Facebook :D
Some background: I'm a 35yo SAHM, my husband (39) makes about $112k/year. We have 2 kids with a third on the way.
I'm a first-generation Bosnian immigrant with a Master's degree. I made about $67k/year before becoming a SAHM. My husband is a federal attorney. We got lucky that my in-laws paid for his schooling so he was able to start saving and investing right out of college.
We live very frugally. We built a nice home, but other than that most of our money just goes to groceries. We don't have expensive hobbies and our kid's activities are usually free.
Net worth breakdown: -house value: ~450,000 -retirement: $590,000 -cars: ~$20,000 -savings: $28,000
Our only debt is about $25,000 left on the mortgage.
We pay for our cars in cash, mostly cook at home, don't have subscriptions other than Spotify, and mostly do free activities.
