loft boards screwed directly to joists, is this a problem

the central part of my house's loft is floored, was when i moved in. was about to floor the rest and noticed that the floorboards are screwed directly to the joists. been in the house for 8 years and not noticed any issues.

is this a potential problem, to be honest i'd rather not have to lift it and re-lay.
