South on East High St and Avon St lane scramble

This intersection isn’t my favorite. I was taught to never change lanes inside an intersection but it seems to be a customary practice here. If you don’t change to the right lane, you’ll immediately be forced into a left turn on East Market St. If you’re not familiar with this and you stay in your lane through the intersection, good luck recovering while people buzz past you in the right lane.

I’ve also encountered people using the right turn only lane to proceed directly into the right lane just past the intersection.

I’m not sure how to make this intersection better but in the meantime, i’ll be breaking my own (and probably incorrect) rule to avoid changing lanes in an intersection.
