Considering my first ever firearm purchase, considering getting the CZ P-10F. Am I thinking right?

American here, never bought a firearm before.

Basically my thoughts were that I want a 1. polymer 2. full size for home defense that is 3. known for being reliable. FWIW I don't plan on carrying daily. After doing some research I was basically funneled down to either a S&W MP9 or the CZ P10F, and I think that I prefer the full size and ergonomics of the CZ.

The only other thing I was considering was a P-09 because it has a manual safety and some videos on the P10F had me wondering about the firing pin block safety quality since I saw some discussion online and since the P10F doesn't have a manual safety I wasn't totally sold on it. I can only assume a bunch of people here own P10Fs so you guys can probably talk about safeties a bit.

Does all this add up as far as my wants/needs? Are these a good first purchase? Are there any other makes and models that I should be checking out along with the two I talked about above? Thanks for the insight.
