Is it a new trend to follow around players and harass them?

Had to leave a match early because this dude would not leave me alone. I started an escort contract, dude jumped on and started killing the zombies. I'm doing camo grinds and I asked him to stop because I'm not looking to squad up or share kills. He laughed. So I cancelled the contract. I tried to run away, even with the speed perk making me run fairly quickly and he was on my tail firing at me. Again I'd tell him to leave me alone and laughter from him. To add I am also a woman so I don't know if that made it more amusing to harass after hearing a girly voice on mic. I got into a car and drove my ass to the other side of the map. started a new escort mission and wtf he's there. Again doing the same thing and not leaving me alone. I have fairly bad anxiety and I usually feel at ease with this game as I have mainly encountered decent people who are understanding. So I just hopped onto the closest heli and left. Like what is the goal in this?
