Honest question for folks who assume Hank Fraley (Lions OL coach) as OC is a foregone conclusion...
I want it to happen as much as anyone. He is absolutely my top choice and hiring him would be a great first step in turning our o-line around-
But why would he bypass the opportunity to be a play-caller in Seattle (has a 2nd interview, in person) or more likely, just take the promotion in Detroit where it appears they are desperately trying to keep him?
BJ is going to be the play-caller here for the long haul, so the OC job here would be in name only.
Edit: I understand that it is still a promotion and there is more to being an OC than just calling plays, but BJ will be as involved with the offense as any HC, especially in his first year. The OC will have a limit to his responsibilities and authority. To say otherwise is just kidding yourself.
