Stray kitten with mass on eye

This is a stray kitten that is part of the colony that the neighbors care for. When he was born, his left eye was closed. Last week, we wiped his eye and it opened a bit. He doesn’t seem bothered or in pain when we wipe his eye. But this week it looks like there’s a mass on top of the eye. Does anyone know what it is? 😔
