Raichi should accept that he is mid and play accordingly.
Now, before the Raichi fans start to flame me for the title, I didn't say that he sucks. But it is true that Raichi ain't no Lorenzo. He is good, but still just an average squad player. He's not gonna be the same playmaker as Niko or an equal physical powerhouse to Aiku. Nonetheless, he has been largely trying to play as if he isn't. He has lost most of his duels/failed most of his duties not exactly due to incompetence but his failure to pick opponents: he was cooked by Lorenzo, and he tried to press Barou but the King still got a shot off anyway; he tried to mark Charles this match and was shaken off with the femboy's off-the-ball, and Rin left him in the dust like an NPC.
Which is absolutely not how it has to be. Raichi can't win 1v1s against S-tier players, but he has his own way of influencing them: the distanced marking that he did against Snuffy. His weapons, being his high core strength and immense stamina, allow him to exert presence as long as he's given some time to react and space to regain footing, and that is more than enough to tremendously increase his worth on the field.
For more concrete applications: against dribblers, he can box them in and out of the lanes, forcing them to either waste time or drift out of their comfort zones if they're strikers (Rin doesn't have one, but Barou sure has), against strikers, he can limit their shooting course and interfere with them setting up space to shoot, against metavision users... well it doesn't help much, but having space so that you aren't immediately shaken off mark can only help.
If he had accepted his role as the "time setter" to slow down and limit opposing attacks, well... I don't see him reaching Isagi's level of efficiency in defense, but at least in this match, he would limit Charles' passing options; he would actually be capable of buying time against Rin and allowing Isagi and Kaiser to set up a more effective press, and against Shidou who has a pretty clear zone of comfort, he could significantly reduce his effectiveness. In short, one of the better DM performances in the league so far, maybe even on par with Karasu's stellar performance right now. Instead of being clowned on by Rin.
