My Carpentry Exam

Hello dear woodworking community,

having already admired other fascinating furniture and projects here, I would now like to contribute to this great forum myself and share my exam piece with you (from Germany).

I completed my apprenticeship this summer after three years of learning. It is a great honor for me that my examiners selected my exam piece for a design exhibition in Stuttgart. I was also allowed to contribute a short video about the sideboard, which I also want to share with you, so you can see some things in action:

The piece is an ash sideboard designed to hold a record player and vinyl records. The frame and slats are made of solid wood, the body is self-veneered and coated with an open-pore lacquer. I focused on the front design, whose contours originate from the sound waves of the four favorite songs of my fiance and me (i dedicated this sideboard to her and our story, so this piece is also very emotional to me :) ).

I look forward to your comments, feedback and criticism and am happy to answer more in-depth questions if there is interest. If I can even spread some inspiration and enthusiasm for our craft, that would be fantastic.
