Do you think being autistic precludes you from holding a high-level job?
By high-level job I mean high in the corporate ladder, but not necessarily being a manager.
More details: I'm in tech, and while I do an okay job of masking, I recently started to ask for accommodations, such as more detailed/explicit instructions on tasks. I didn't mention I'm autistic, just said it would be helpful.
But this got me thinking: is "figuring out" ambiguous tasks part of my job description as someone fairly high in the ladder? Is the ask a reasonable accommodation, or me admitting failure in performing a part of my job?
