ADU/Granny Flat Okay for Au Pair?

We live in San Diego area and are looking into hosting an au pair within the next year. My husband and I are fully committed to making sure our au pair is welcomed into our family. However, we are somewhat private people too. We have a separate 2 bedroom tiny home/accessory dwelling unit in our backyard and thought we could have that space be our au pairs. Our au pair of course will be invited to all meals and family fun. Is this a strange setup or would you as an au pair like having the separate space?
