Ladies: let's talk about management and leadership in the workplace. What are qualities/traits you really respected in some of your best managers?
I am 29F (turning 30 this fall!) and approaching a point in my career where I know there are a lot of eyes on me as I work towards being promoted a managerial role.
Tell me: what were some truly positive traits your best managers exemplified? What did they do to really earn your respect?
For me, I've had about 6-7 managers in my professional career so far, and feel very fortunate to say my first-ever manager I had in my first 'adult' job was by far the best. She was personable, organized, reliable, kept cool under pressure, did a great job of balancing her personal/professional boundaries while still being able to foster nice relationships with each of us, and generally was just a cool, chill person who still made me feel challenged and respected. She was not without her flaws of course, but I really appreciated working under her leadership during my early career.
