Moving to Dublin: What Happens If the Current Tenant Refuses to Vacate Our New Home?

Looking for some advice on a tricky housing situation. We're moving to Dublin and have found a new place to rent. The move-in date works perfectly with the notice we're giving our current landlord, so our last day here lines up with the start of our new tenancy.

The issue is that the house we’re moving into is currently occupied by a tenant who has been served an eviction notice. My concern is: what happens if that tenant refuses to leave before our move-in date? This would leave us with nowhere to go after vacating our current place.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What are our options if the worst happens? Should we take any precautions or make contingency plans now? Can we renege on our notice if we don't have a place to move to?
