Did Allied soldiers execute German soldiers when liberating concentration camps?
I volunteer at my local history museum. Today I found a bundle of photos that included a picture of a naked man, he appeared to have been hung. The body was tangled in a barbed wire fence. His body was painted the words "heil hitler", "SS", and swastikas. It is very graphic. There were other photos of open mass graves, soldiers, and camp prisoners. The photographer was a soldier from the town i live in and it seems was a part of this camps liberation. Were scenes like this unusual? I have never heard of anything like this.
Please do not ask me to share said photos. I don't feel that it would be appropriate in this venue.
