coffeeshop shooting
ive been living here over a year and i've always tried to avoid the touristic center in amsterdam, but last month a couple of friends were visiting so we went to a coffee shop in nieuwmarkt; after 20 mins a big dude came running in then whipped out a gun and shot a dude in the chest in front of everyone and ran back out. in the moment i couldn't make out what was happening but apparently the guy died soon after in the ambulance. i was shocked at how this event was treated as a routine occurrence as there were little to no articles about it and the coffee shop reopened in the morning. ive always felt a little uneasy in the centre but after this i am straight up scared to go, i guess i am just posting this to see what you guys think about this or if you know that theres something going on behind coffeeshops that makes them dangerous places to hang around in
