Operations

At around 6:20 PM, I was walking with my coworker to clock out at 6:25 PM to go get food. As we were heading to the time clock, a manager approached us, but she walked right past me. My coworker, who was slightly behind me, indicated that she turned around and attempted to stop us. However, I did not see or hear her because I had my AirPods in, which is typical for me at the end of my shift.

I want to clarify that I did not intentionally walk away from the manager. I have been employed here for two years and have never walked off on a manager before, so there would be no reason for me to start now.

After I continued walking, my coworker mentioned that the manager was being disrespectful, telling him, "Go and get your partner before he gets terminated," and "I dont give a fuck about anything or what time it is; I need your badges."

When I reached the time clock, the manager confronted me, claiming that I walked off on her. This caught me completely off guard, as I was unaware she had called for me. We then proceeded to HR, where she alleged that I brushed her off and walked away. However, I spoke to HR and explained that she did not touch me and that I had my AirPods in because there were only a few minutes left in my shift.

HR advised me not to wear my AirPods on the floor. As I was leaving, the manager informed me, "Well, I'm filing for termination. Have a good day." I am confused about this situation and concerned about the potential for termination.

Do you think this could lead to my termination?
