Strange encounter on Broadway last night

I was stopped at a red light on the corner of State and Broadway. As I slowed to the light a man was standing a few feet back from the corner. When I stopped he started approaching my car- i was watching him and he made eye contact with me through my back passenger window. I double locked my doors, just in case. Then he passed behind my car and cut around to pass in front of the bus that was stopped next to me.

It just seemed really weird because he got right up next to my passenger rear window and looked in at me, or into my car. I have no idea if he tried to open the door, I'd already made sure my door was locked at that point. It seemed extra weird because there's a crosswalk right there and in no way, shape, or form was I anywhere near blocking it, I never stop in the crosswalk. He deliberately chose to walk behind my car and get right up to my rear passenger door.

It wasn't busy but it wasn't dead quiet, either. Was this some sort of attempt to get into my car? Stay safe out there y'all and always make sure your doors lock when you're in the car. Most cars lock automatically but only after you start driving over a certain speed.
