Seeking Advice on AFSC Choices; Civilian Marketability & Commission Pathway?
Hi everyone,
My wife was initially interested in going into 4A0X1 (Health Services Management) but her recruiter has limited her choices of AFSCs to a few highlighted options (see attached image). She was asked to make a list of 10 AFSCs but feels uncomfortable listing jobs she has zero to little interest in.
The recruiter has told her to keep 4A0X1 on her list and also suggested she consider an Open General Contract. She’s worried about this option, so we’re hoping for some insight into these highlighted AFSCs.
Here’s what she’s looking for:
- Civilian marketability (the option to get a good job after separating)
- A 9-5 type schedule (weekends and holidays off are a plus)
- Potential to commission down the road
- Career growth (she’s planning to earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s in her career field)
Her long-term goal was to go 4A0X1, get her degree in service, and either commission or separate with a strong resume and skillset lined up. Are there other AFSCs from this list that offer a similar pathway?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
