Should I tell my ex that I miscarried?

Hi, I recently broke up with my ex not too long ago and I didn't know I was pregnant until after we broke up. I was going to keep the baby just because I didn't want to get rid of it but then I miscarried a few weeks after. I was heartbroken, it was a hurt I've never experienced before. I was talking to my friend about it and they had said my ex deserved to know about it so we could talk about it but I don't know if that's the right decision. We didn't end on bad terms or anything just I don't wanna text them and make it awkward for both of us. What should I do?
