Studio Build
I have recently moved my audio setup into a new room. The sound of the room currently is farily live and lacks clarity, and there is a slight buildup in the 145 Hz region (as well as other peaks in various areas and a couple of nulls). I am looking to invest in some decent acoustic treatment, to achieve a sound that is at least an improvement on before and suitable for the majority of situations.
Other than treating the main reflection points, I am not too sure what approach I should take for the rest of the room to treat things like reverb time, bass, and whether I need to consider investing in a diffuser to retain some life.
I will probably mostly be using the room for audio post for moving image (which will include some 5.1 surround mixing), but also intend to use it for mixing music as well.
I have included a diagram of the room in its current setup. I have made rough measurements of where the reflection ponits seem to be (the cm measurement for reflection points in the diagram is approximate). I have the speakers currently setup in a 5.1 arrangement, but in the diagram I have only included L, R, Ls, Rs. My speakers are near-field KRK Classic 5s. The distance between the tweeters of the front and surround speakers are shown in the diagram (111 cm for the front and 192 cm for the rear, in case its not clear)
If anyone can offer any advice on how to deal with this room that would be amazing. I have put the dimensions into online room mode calculators to see where the problem areas might be, but I still dont know exactly what to do with this information. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
